My Story

My journey in the footwear industry began in childhood. My father was a lifelong shoemaker, crafting custom shoes and tailoring lasts for each client. From a young age, I watched his craftsmanship, absorbing a passion for precision and attention to detail.

I studied at the Institute of Radioelectronics. Back then, without the internet, I spent hours in libraries diving into literature on development and design. These skills—analyzing and working with technical information—became the foundation of my career.

Early Steps and Challenges

I initially focused on shoe production before dedicating over a decade to crafting shoe lasts. In those early years, with a young family and limited budget, professional equipment was out of reach. I built a mechanical lathe for shaping lasts from makeshift materials—it was imprecise, resembling the quirky “Pepelats” from the film Kin-dza-dza. Clients joked about it, but the results surprised them.

Realizing the need for greater accuracy, I dove into 3D modeling. I mastered numerous programs: Rhino 8 and Grasshopper for parametric design, Shoemaster and Lastmaker for lasts, ZBrush for detailing, CorelDRAW for sketches, USM2 for upper modeling, plus EasyLast, Autodesk PowerShape, and dozens of supporting tools.

Experience and Achievements

I worked as a modeler at shoe factories in Ukraine, creating designs for all types of footwear—from classic to athletic. Later, I became a lead engineer at Unisole, heading the department for sole design and construction, and served as a consultant for innovation at Zotti’s last factory. There, I introduced 3D scanning for pattern-making and mechanical last finishing, significantly improving precision and efficiency.

Today, I offer services to companies that value quality and precision. My approach blends traditional shoemaking craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology—from last design to shoe upper creation. I believe every pair of shoes starts with a perfect last, and I strive to bring clients’ ideas to life with utmost accuracy and care for detail.
